In my situation, using a some years old tablet (Asus Z580C / P01m) running Android 6.0.1, DroidCamX appears to be practically useless. The latency is quite annoying, both over Wifi and over USB / ADB, but worse is that the app silently crashes after around 10 minutes of use. This happens consequently, with some variation in the time period. At the PC side, a static picture remains. Fiddling with settings at either side of the connection (wifi or USB, screen resolution, frame rate) has no effect on this behaviour. When it works, it works well, apart from the latency. I have used in Jitsi Meet, Skype, Zoom and with guvcview, under Ubuntu/Linux. The described behaviour may be specific for my particular tablet/Android version; I advise anyone who considers it to try with the free version for a period of time before switching to the paid version.
PAID USER DCX & OBS: Good reliable light weight solution, useful as a wireless WiFi Mic to Windows (beats Bluetooth SQ wise hands down) and I use this for conferencing and broadcast. Complaint: 16KHz sample rate - pls add up to 48KHz like Droidcam OBS can do! I have tried WO Mic (no lifetime paid mode, bad Windows side client) and EZ Mic (unstable connection). Bonus if you could make bi-directional audio over wifi (currently to do this, I use AudioRelay on the playback side - tedious).
Everything worked flawlessly until the recent update. On my Oneplus One with Android 10 the connection now refuses to stay open when I lock the phone / turn off the display. Could you please fix it. I am happy to provide any Information that you could possibly need. Kind regards
Pretty cool app! Wanted to try study with me and this works just fine to get the proper angle for it! Battery optimisation is a problem through, but plug your device into a charger and it should be great.
I am also going through the same latency issues another reviewer mentioned. I used to love this app but just let them after 10 minutes it's worthless.
